Aussie Flu: Map shows ‘deadly’ virus hotspots in Somerset including Yeovil, Weston-super-Mare, Bridgwater, Taunton and Frome

The arrival of Aussie flu in Somerset, as the virus starts to get a grip of the West Country, has left many people worried after this strain has so far left 17 people in the UK fighting for their lives and has been responsible for hundreds of deaths abroad.

While catching flu is never a nice experience, Aussie flu seems to have taken the symptoms and given them a shot in the arm, as they seems to be particularly vicious and disconcerting.

What are the symptoms?

While symptoms of H3N2 – a subtype of influenza A – are similar to other strains of the flu, you will find that they are more severe than usual.

Symptoms include:

  • Vomiting and diarrhoea
